Welcome to the Worship Page
Worship is an important part of church life at Good Shepherd and takes place each Sunday Morning at 10 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Worship is a time for the people of God to gather together to pray, sing praises, hear the word of God and gather around the Lord's Table to celebrate communion.
The Praise Band leads worship once a month and is always looking for new participants. If you are interested in participating in the Praise Band please contact the church office.
Good Shepherd also has a choir that sings the Sundays the Praise Band does not perform. The choir is always looking for new members and practices on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. Kristy Burge serves as choir director and invites you to join the choir.
Sermons are an important part of worship. Pastor Ron Bowen usually handles the preaching preparing sermons that are Biblically based with an application to everyday life.
Another important part of worship is partaking of the Lord's Supper each Sunday. At the table an elder shares a devotion, the pastor shares the words of institution and everyone is invited to share in the communion meal as it is passed in the congregation. The Lords Supper is celebrated each week at Good Shepherd as well as other Disciple congregations.
Several additional worship opportunities take place during special days during the year. Watch the activities page for announcements for special services and times.
